Available to provide Senior Entertainment. I perform in memory units as well as nursing care, senior, assisted living and Adult care facilities. What started out as nervous attempt to give back to Hospice for the wonderful care they provided my dad when he was sick, I answered an ad from Beacon Hospice looking for volunteer “music therapist” …I took a shot at it .. and very happy to say this has become a most enjoyable part of my music career.

'Joanne is an amazingly talented singer/songwriter who has selflessly given her time to provide music therapy to terminally ill patients. This helps provide comfort and improve quality of life. Music therapy can reduce stress, anxiety, depression and loneliness. We have patients who are no longer verbal but will hum along and smile when Joanne sings. It is amazing to see their connection when she plays. The songs she has written and performed are tremendously powerful. She has a beautiful voice. We are extremely grateful to Joanne for taking the time out of her day to share her wonderful gift with others. '

Joanne Lurgio has been performing at Cornerstone and the participants absolutely love her. Both the participants and the staff look forward to seeing Joanne each month to sing along and dance to all of her fun and entertaining songs. She has become a highlight on our monthly activity calendar that we plan to keep ongoing.
